The ‘Like and Donate’ campaign by Skye bank Plc to donate
money towards helping less privileged children received a boost as Goodlife
promotions takes the campaign to secondary schools.
Goodlife promotions are a
premium media, online advertising and marketing firm driving the project. The
campaign aims to get people to like the Skye bank fan page on Facebook and
every like equals to 50naira donation from Skye bank.
The Goodlife
promotions crew visited the students at Mavir Secondary school, Olodi Apapa,
Aijegunle to give the students an opportunity to be part of the project. The
campaign at Mavir secondary school lasted for two days, preceding the
children’s day celebration. During the campaign, students logged on to their Facebook
accounts and liked the Skye bank fan page to contribute towards helping
Nigeria’s vulnerable children.
The team from Goodlife promotions had an interactive session
with the principal and students of the school. They spoke about the importance
of charity and showing love to fellow children, especially on a day like the
children’s day. They explained that Skye bank is giving this opportunity to
contribute positively to helping fellow children live a better life in a way
that also helps them get more familiar with social media technology. The
students expressed their happiness at such opportunity. Many people have
associated social media with entertainment and consider it a distraction for
students but with this campaign, social media has been put to a noble cause.
The principal thanked the team from Goodlife
and Skye bank Plc. He spoke about the growing importance of ICT and the social
media in education. He encouraged the students to develop more interest in ICT
and encouraged companies to show more interest in helping children.
